The ‘dowdier’ bird still present to at least this time – now looking far less settled and more active. Also about the pits, between 17:25 and 18:49, the 43 species recorded included two singing of both Cetti’s Warbler and Chiffchaff, five Sand Martin east (ish) at 17:39, a Red Kite to the north-east at 17:40, three Shelduck, a pair of Gadwall, drake Pochard, eight Lapwing, three Roe Deer and four+ pipistrelle sp. 161+ Fieldfare were seen from 18:23, c.10% of these moving off 161+ northwards whereas the remainder dropped in to roost in the trees etc. south of the track to the Garganey Pool. .

2x birds in S/plum, 1x half & half, displaying & chasing each other around. The Woolhampton bird was still present at 16:30 so clearly different birds. Also 2x Blackcaps & Chiffchaff singing.

the Woolhampton three, remained to at least early evening, the main pit also attracting three Shelduck, 16+ Snipe, seven Shoveler, a pair of Teal, two of Gadwall and two of both singing Cetti’s Warbler and Chiffchaff. Single Fieldfare and Redwing nearby soon had ten+ pipistrelle sp. for company; two Muntjac being seen on the promontory prior to dusk. 47 species were recorded between 17:38 and 18:56.

Still present and showing well to at least this time, having initially been seen at 15:50. Of the 55 species recorded on site late afternoon the following were perhaps of more note: Swallow (♂ @ 15:55 with one+ then being heard @ 16:15), Cetti’s Warbler (♂ towards the south-west corner of the main pit), Red Kite (north-east @ 15:40, east @ 16:13 and to the north at 16:16), Chiffchaff (five including an aberrantly singing bird north of the ‘Garganey Pool’), Lesser Redpoll (heard moving over @ 15:54), Lapwing (ten), Redshank (heard at 16:13), Stock Dove (north-east @ 15:40), Pochard (♀), Shoveler (♂), Shelduck (pair), Gadwall (pair), Snipe (one), Buzzard (four to the south @ 15:40 and one in the woodland south of the ‘Garganey Pool’ @ 16:30) and Reed Bunting (26+ in a loose flock on the promontory). Also recorded were flowering Butterbur, Coltsfoot, Germander Speedwell, Blackthorn, Lesser Celandine, a dandelion sp. and Daffodil (!) while Bombus leucorum were evident on the wing initially. .

Very lovely, 3 different stages of plumage like a picture from a bird book! Also found and left a green fleecy scarf, near SW corner of lake, go get it if you lost it :).
