Just spied a large bird of prey on the north side of the airfield. it was being harried by a party of Jackdaws that looked small in comparison. It then powered away crossing the railway line and circling over Knowl Hill. Lost over the horizon. 6 mins ago. Apart from it's size, all I got was that it was all dark, the tail was 'full' and it had slow deep wingbeats. Wings wider than Buzzard and circled with flat wings. There were several Kites in the area and it looked slightly larger, bulkier, it powered away from the Jackdaws mobbing it, with ease and covered an immense distance in seconds. Having discussed online, after my initial post, I'm happy to settle on possible Honey Buzzard.
