male. First seen north of West Fen. Moved slowly westwards along the north perimeter of the site, finally heading over to Fleethill Farm. Likely same bird as photographed near Finch Pond on 9th August (similar moulting of wingtip primaries). Please only view from the public footpath.

male. Appeared to rise from somewhere northeast of Finch Pool. Circled upwards somewhat like a buzzard to quite a height and drifted south over the River Blackwater into Hampshire. Definite grey on top of the tail and the outer part of the wings. Given the sighting of a different bird by RJG a few minutes earlier, possibly two birds present near Finch Pond at about the same time. Please only view from the public footpath.

2nd s. male (i think). Large, long-winged raptor, dark plumage with pale head, long straight tail which fanned to convex curve on turning, pale underwing with black wingtips, quartering a hayfield with low, harrier-like flight pattern. Watched from my table outside the Harrow until it was lost to view over there ridge towards Hernehill Down. It doesn't get much better than this.

I was alerted to the presence of a probable predator by a party of Teal in tight formation coming off Dorney Common onto the flood. Picked it up circling over the path to the Jubilee River, it then flew east to the end of the flood before crossing it, wheeling around the SE corner then drifted off over Eton Wick village. I got enough on it to make it a female/Imm. There had been several reports of one in the area a few weeks back, assuming its the same bird, nice to know it's in the area still.
